Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Cancellation Policy?

24 hour advance notice is appreciated when cancelling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment. Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason, and without at least 2 hours before appointment notification will be considered a “no-show.” They will be charged 50% for their “missed” service.

What if I arrive late to my appointment?

Arriving late will simply limit the time for your treatment, thus lessening the effectiveness and your pleasure. You will still be charged the full fee for the appointment.

How can I pay for my services?

I accept all major credit cards, checks and cash (exact amount only please).

Should I tell anyone about any physical, medical, or allergy concerns?

Upon arrival at RNR Skincare Studio, you will complete a brief health history questionnaire to assist me in providing you the best possible experience and to assure your maximum safety and comfort. I encourage you to disclose any pertinent health conditions that may affect your experience.

Is there an age policy for facials or waxing?

Eighteen is the minimum age to receive treatments. Minors under the age of eighteen may have spa treatments if accompanied by a parent or have a signed waiver.

How do I determine which facial to choose?

I am trained to customize each facial treatment for your particular skin through skin analysis. This may mean that you do not receive the facial you booked but one rather more suited to your skin type.

Should men shave before a facial?

Shaving is recommended but please be sure to do so at least two hours prior to your scheduled appointment.

What if I am pregnant?

You may still get waxing services while you are pregnant. Your facial options are limited, but I still have treatments available for you. Please inform me of your condition when you book your appointment.

What should I wear?

Where whatever you are comfortable in. If you are getting a wax service, loose clothing will be more comfortable on your sensitive skin.

What is the ideal frequency of treatment?

For waxing, it's best to come every 3-4 weeks.

For facials & peels, PCA SKIN recommends basing frequency of treatment on the condition rather than the chosen formulation. For the best results, follow these guidelines:

Discoloration can be treated every three weeks. If you treat uneven skin tone more often, you run the risk of causing too much inflammation; conversely if you treat uneven skin tone not often enough, you are allowing pigment to be deposited into the keratinocytes. By treating uneven skin tone every three weeks, you are suppressing the melanocyte from producing more melanin, as well as simultaneously reducing the darker appearance of the previously pigmented cells as they rise to the surface of the skin, minimizing the appearance of the discoloration as you are treating it.

Acne (all types) can be treated every two weeks. Treating acne every week, could create too much inflammation, while waiting longer between treatments allows the propionibacterium (P. acnes) more time to proliferate. By treating acneic skin types every two weeks, you are staying ahead of the bacteria production while minimizing the appearance of future breakouts and encouraging the healing process.

Sensitive skin and rosacea can be treated every four weeks. Because the skin is already irritated in most sensitive skin situations, treating it more frequently than every four weeks will cause too much irritation.

Aging skin can be treated every three weeks. Aging skin types are usually also combating uneven skin tone. Treating the aging patient every three weeks not only manages the discoloration issues, but also keeps the skin hydrated and infused with firming and plumping ingredients.

Ultimately, the goal is to have my patients come in on a 4-6 week basis for skin health maintenance. Also, I must stress to each of my patients the importance of daily care in conjunction with regular in-office treatments.
